HOW TO GET MONEY OFF PREPAID CARD
Step 1: Understand Pre-Paid Cards
Prepaid cards are like debit cards but they are not linked to a bank account. Money can be added to a prepaid card in a few different ways. You can add cash to a prepaid card from a reload location, transfer funds from a bank account, or receive direct deposit on the card.
Step 2: Setting Up the Card
When you pick up your prepaid card, you need to activate it and create an account. You will need to provide personal information like your address, birth date, Social Security Number and other relevant information. You will also have to choose a set password and/or PIN number that you can use when accessing the account via ATM.
Step 3: Adding Funds to the Card
- Reloading with Cash – at any store you can use cash, debit or credit card to add money to the prepaid card.
- Transferring from Bank Account – this is the simplest and safest way to add funds to the card. You can transfer funds from your bank account to the prepaid card in real-time.
- Receiving Direct Deposit – you can also use direct deposit to add money to the card. Most employer will do it free of cost.
Step 4: Withdraw Funds from the Card
You can withdraw cash from an ATM or you can use the card to make purchases from any store. If you are using it to make purchases, you need to select ‘Credit’ during checkout as the prepaid card is not linked to a bank account.
Step 5: Reload & Reuse the Card
You can keep reusing the prepaid card and reload money into it as needed. This is a convenient and cost-effective option if you want to use cash but don’t want to be carrying around too much cash.
